Zack Snyder tells secrets about the dystopian future scene

Much to the delight of loyal fan service, Zack Snyder’s Justice League has finally been released, respecting the director’s original vision and monumental four-hour run. The feature generated a lot of debate on social media, with many curious about how the rest of this story would be in Zack Snyder’s hands. Recently, the director explained “Knightmare”, the dystopian future where Darkseid invades Earth.

In a magazine at Yahoo! Sporty, the filmmaker explains what is happening in this future. For him, the footage would show Darkseid invading Earth and destroying while realizing the anti-life equation. That’s why The Flash is sent to the past to try to save Lois Lane – and it’s even the reason he was seen in Batman v. Superman: The Origin of Justice:

“Darkseid would have come to Earth and Lex would have discovered the anti-life equation and given it to him as soon as he arrived. He would also give the knowledge that if Darkseid killed Lois [Lane], Superman would succumb to Anti-Life. The Earth falls and the Flash travels back in time to try to prevent Lois’ death. That would be the axis of it all. “

Another curious detail of this scene on Snyder Cut is the inclusion of Jared Leto’s Joker. It was the only scene filmed exclusively for the new version and, according to Snyder, the studio did not approve of the idea. He was going to shoot anyway, but eventually the studio decided to change their mind and approve the recording of the scene:

“The studio originally said, ‘We don’t want that right now’, but I said, ‘I’ll do it anyway.’ I was going to put up some green screens and shoot around my yard, but we wouldn’t have to do it at the end.

This streak is controversial among fans. As much as some loved seeing Leto’s Joker next to Ben Affleck’s Batman, many also say the scene is utterly unnecessary and only serves as fan service, especially now that the studio has confirmed there is had no plan to give continuity to the universe. built by Snyder in theaters.

Zack Snyder’s version brings back the infamous Joker from Jared Leto.

Finally, Snyder also mentioned the revelation made on the Harlequin. In the movie, Batman tells the Joker that she died in his arms and, as a last wish, asks him to end his ex-lover. Snyder made a joke about it, suggesting it could be undone in the sequel, but immediately said that this second film would not be produced:

“With luck, in the next film we can restore time and bring it back to life. But we won’t! They [os fãs] you can still go see “Suicide Squad”. She doesn’t die in this movie, I think!

For now, Warner is firm in his decision not to continue the “Snyderverso,” as fans have named him. The idea is to continue the DC Comics Extended Universe from current franchises, such as Shazam !, Aquaman and Wonder Woman. We’re still not sure if we’ll have another Justice League movie anytime soon, but it never hurts to dream.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is available to rent on multiple digital platforms, for a limited time only. Subsequently, the film will be exclusive to HBO Max, but it has already been announced that its Blu-Ray will be sold in Brazil.
