He said we’ll see themes Marvel never touched before in theaters in the series!
Hawk and the Winter Soldier will be Marvel’s next series on Disney +, giving greater prominence to its protagonists as it deals with the passage of Captain America’s cape after Avengers: Endgame. Previously, Anthony Mackie, the Falcon, had said the series would answer remaining questions about who Captain America’s successor will be and whether there really will be a successor. Commenting on the tone of the series, composer Henry Jackman said the series will go further, tackling more complex themes than usual for Marvel.
According to Jackman, although this is a Marvel series and features action scenes, fighting and persecution, Falcon and the Winter Soldier will link the Legendary Shield to the history of the States. -United, exploring what an African American hero wearing Captain America’s Shield means.
In the interview with FilmSpeak, Jackman said (comic):
“In this particular series there is a very serious and nothing trivial question, now more than ever, about what it means to hold this shield and what kind of person should hold this shield at the end and with the history of the country. and how Africa. Americans might or might not feel like Captain America. “
Due to the episodic format of the series, the composer also considers that there is more space to delve into the characters more fully than a movie would allow:
“Due to the slightly different format of six hours divided into episodes, there is more freedom … so you have a little more opportunity to go down the path of a psychological drama and explore the backstory because that you have more space to include it. ”
In fact, one of the main propositions of the Marvel series, according to Kevin Feige himself, is to give more space for the development of characters who weren’t as fully developed through the films. Also, the longer duration of the series adds time for this deeper development to actually take place.
Hawk and the Winter Soldier is slated for release on March 19 this year, a week after the end of WandaVision, Marvel’s first series to launch on Disney +.
