CoD is calling you for a rescue operation in Southeast Asia!
After the absolute success of its launch and first expansion, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War continues its story in Season 2, with Operators returning to Laos in an attempt to save Russell Adler, kidnapped by Perseus at the end of the last campaign.
With a ton of content on the horizon, I’ve decided to put together this guide with the main news that Black Ops Season 2 will bring. New weapons, new maps, new operators; it’s a LOT of stuff set up to rock your gameplay.
Remember that Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is available on PlayStation Store, for PlayStataion 4 and PlayStation 5, and Season 2 has started!
Continue the story
In the jungles of Laos, a new rescue mission appears in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War!
Continuing the plot of the end of Season 1, CoD’s story will take players back to the forests of Laos in search of clues to the disappearance of Russell Adler, the “American monster.”
Adler, a key figure in the game, was captured by Perseus during the attack on The Pines. The clues that have already been found indicate that it is taking place somewhere on Southeast Asia’s new Route 6 and Frank Woods wants answers.
To help you on this extremely dangerous journey through the jungles of Laos, Black Ops Cold War has added four new Operators, from different factions.
You can now play with Naga, from the Warsaw Pact, and with Maxis, Wolf and Rivas, a NATO trio. Each character will arrive in the game at a different time during the season, starting with Naga, who will debut with the new adventure.
Kapano “Naga” Van, in fact, appears to be the leader of the enemy operation in Laos. And he is already in the shadows awaiting the arrival of Frank Woods and agents on his territory.
A new season of Call of Duty also brings new weapons to help you face the dangers of Laos. The second expansion for Black Ops Cold War will feature six new weapons, which will arrive in the game at different times throughout the evolution of the campaign.
You start Season 2 with the FARA 83 Assault Rifle and SMT LC10. Then, over the weeks, Machete and the E-Tool will come to the game, for melee combat, an R1 Shadowhunter and a 20mm ZRG sniper.
New multiplayer modes
It’s time to get your team together to play Black Ops Cold War’s three new multiplayer modes!
In Radical mode, the operator must eliminate his targets, collect platelets and drop them in the indicated area of the map – which will change locations over time. It’s a 6v6 mode and should be available over the weeks.
Conflict Zone mode will have an expansion, now including the largest maps in the game. There will be 10 squads, of 4 players each, fighting to conquer areas of the map.
Finally, the gun game is back! In this mode, the player progresses between 20 different weapons and must kill an enemy with each of them to win the match.
New multiplayer maps
In addition to the game modes, four new multiplayer maps are to be discovered: Apocalypse, Golova, Mansion and Miami Strike.
The Apocalypse map is small / medium in size for 6v6 matches. Golova, on the other hand, is a multi-team map for medium and long range combat, on inclined terrain. Mansion is a small map for 2v2 and 3v3 matches, and Miami Strike is a scaled-down version of the original, for tactical combat.
