Ubisoft listened to player requests!
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla arrived in November of last year, bringing a whole new world of the franchise to explore, where Nordic themes and mythology are predominant. Despite several weapon options that can be used in combat, fans have felt the absence of a very common option in games like this: one-handed swords. Now, in response to public inquiries, an update will add this type of weapon to the game (via ComicBook).
According to producer Jose Araiza, Ubisoft is working on an update that will add one-handed swords to the game, thanks to public feedback. Araiza said that initially the team didn’t imagine fans would miss this specific weapon type so much, which is why it was not included. In order to correct this error, the game will be updated so that players have more of this option to use in combat.
The producer claimed that the Assassin’s Creed team are really dedicated to giving fans what they want. This is partly the reason for the delay in the update, as they don’t want the new weapon type to look like a simple adaptation or “skin” of the weapons that were already in the game. So the intention posted by him is that the update will be substantial, and should affect the experience of players significantly.
Ubisoft hasn’t said when the change will come, but since this is something with far-reaching implications as it affects the gameplay of the title, it’s possible that audiences may still have to wait a considerable amount of time for the update. . Still, it was clear that the Assassin’s Creed team is doing their best to give players that option that so many have been asking for.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and Google Stadia.
