The Flash actress who will play Supergirl responds to Melissa Benoist’s comments

Last week it was revealed that actress Sasha Calle will play Supergirl in the first Flash movie. Quickly, Melissa Benoist, who plays the heroine on the CW series, tried to welcome her colleague.

Through an Instagram post, Benoist wrote that “the world needs as many Supergirls as they can”. Check:

In her response, Calle expressed how much Benoist’s reception means to her, as she and her brother have watched every episode of Supergirl:

Sasha Calle is the new actress to play the iconic superheroine and will be the first Latina to take on the role. Andy Muschietti, the film’s director, said he auditioned over 400 actresses for the role before finally finding Calle.

Meanwhile, the series starring Melissa Benoist will end next season. The CW has decided to end Supergirl’s story with a longer season, which is set to debut in 2021.
