Everything is connected!
Recently released on Disney +, Raya and the Last Dragon is the latest feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film follows the story of a young warrior who must travel through the divided land of Kumandra, so that she can find the last dragon – the only creature capable of saving her people from a supernatural threat. Very well received by critics and audiences, the film made history with its impeccable animation and its message of unity between peoples.
The film arrived causing a stir among Disney animation fans. In addition to its own story, which in itself is already fantastic, the film also makes some small references to other studio productions. A nice example of this is the brief participation of a chicken in a scene taking place in a market. Many quickly believed it was Hei Hei, one of Moana’s mascots: A Sea of Adventure.
While it seems like a mere coincidence, Disney Animation’s own official Twitter profile confirmed the Easter Egg at an online event. In the tweet, they say, “Keep an eye out for a certain friend with Moana’s feathers during the market scene.” Therefore, the chicken in the market is proven to be Hei Hei, the crazy animal that follows Moana in her movie.
Raya and the Last Dragon is available on Disney + through Premier Access. The film will be shown to subscribers of the service at no additional cost on April 23.
