The renovation was quick!
The CW has announced that it is commissioning the second season of Superman & Lois, the Arrowverse series which debuted on the channel last month. This is one of the fastest renewals for the station since it only aired one episode of the show (via THR).
The episode drew 1.75 million viewers, marking the largest audience for any other DC Comics product on the CW since the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover in December 2019. Additionally, Superman & Lois delivered the largest audience of debut on the streaming channel.
“Superman & Lois’ phenomenal multiplatform debut, which has been a huge success both on a linear and continuous basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented individuals who have worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this area. tough environment, ”said CW CEO Mark Pedowitz, announcing the renewal. “We’re thrilled to now have two new hits on Superman & Lois and Walker, both of which are renewed for next season. With 11 more of our programs, positioning us more and more with strength and stability for our next seasons.
With the renewal, CW continues to solidify the next phase of its DC content, which already includes Batwoman, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. Supergirl and Black Lightning will end after the end of their next seasons.
Superman & Lois, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, focuses on the day-to-day lives of Clark Kent and Lois Lane as they have to take care of their children and face some very important villains. The series has new episodes every Tuesday.
