You can rally the crowd as paintball is back on the Nintendo Switch. During Nintendo Direct, the Japanese company’s digital event which took place this Wednesday the 17th, it was announced that Splatoon 3 will arrive on the console very soon.

Survive in an Ink Desert

The game is the long-awaited sequel to one of Nintendo’s youngest franchises: Splatoon – an online shooter focused on ink wars. It will be the second game in the Nintendo Switch franchise, which has taken everyone by surprise.

The trailer began by giving clues as to what to expect from the new adventure for a player. Looks like we can explore a desolate wilderness while trying to survive. We will have the company of a bizarre sardine and also a new weapon – a sort of ink bow and arrow. Check:

What to expect from Splatoon 3?

Of course, the main focus of Splatoon 3 remains team battles. The new trailer has confirmed that we will be able to play with up to three friends in Ink Battles. The only mode that has been shown is the classic Turf Wars: a competition to see which team paints the most parts of the scene before the time runs out.

In addition to the squid skins present in Splatoon 2, it will be possible to start playing as an octopus – as seen in the Octo Expansion DLC. We don’t have a lot of information on the new game modes, but we have confirmed the return of several weapons in addition to a few new customization options.

The new bow and arrow appear to work like a triple sniper.

Splatoon 3 won’t arrive exclusively on Nintendo Switch until 2022.
