Spider-Man universe movie postponed for third time

Last week Morbius, the Vampire Vampire movie starring Jared Leto who is part of Sony’s Spider-Man movie universe, was postponed to October of this year, but now the movie has been postponed again. Morbius, I think, is set to hit theaters on January 21, 2022.

This is the third postponement suffered by Morbius; the movie had already been postponed to March of that year, and last week it was postponed to October. Now, it has been postponed to January 2022, which is not a good indication for the film, since January and February are a placeholder for films which the studios say will not perform well. But it also means it can end up surprising at the box office, as it did with the first Deadpool.

In addition to reporter Morbius, Sony Pictures (via Variety) also reported Uncharted, 007: No Time to Die, the new version of Cinderella and The Ghostbusters: Beyond.

Morbius, with Jared Leto, is postponed for the third time.

The film is rumored to tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with participation from the Vulture – and it’s worth remembering that Michael Keaton appeared in the first trailer for the feature film.
