And let’s go for another confirmed hero!
Actress Sasha Calle, will play the new Supergirl in the movie The Flash. The announcement came via Instagram from director Andy Muschetti.
Chosen from over 425 actresses, Calle is Colombian and will star in the film The Flash alongside Ezra Miller. Andy Muschietti attended all of the auditions and, along with DC Films chief Walter Hamada, was amazed at the harshness and vulnerability that Calle brought to the role.
“I have seen more than four hundred auditions in the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. The talent pool was really amazing and it was very difficult to make a decision, but we finally found an actress who was destined to play this role, ”said the director.
According to Deadline, the actresses weren’t made aware of the role they were being tested for until very late in the process. Closer to the end of the selection, Sasha Calle read with Ezra Miller.
Calle plays Lola Rosales in the American soap opera The Young and the Restless. She was nominated last year for the Daytime Emmy in the Young Leading Performer category in a drama series.
