Everything in its time…
Since its announcement on Ubisoft Forward, avid fans of the company have been counting the days for the arrival of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. To guarantee an experience worthy of such an expectation, Ubisoft has decided to announce a new postponement of the game.
The news was published in a statement on the company’s official Twitter. Announced in September, the game was due to arrive in March of this year.
However, it is possible that the worsening pandemic affected the company’s planning. For the moment, the game no longer has a specific date for its release. Consult the announcement:
Fortunately, Ubisoft has decided to devote the necessary time to deliver another quality game, up to the demands of the franchise’s most frequent fans. If we’ve learned anything from the massive fiasco that happened with Cyberpunk 2077 (from CD Projekt Red), it’s that a postponed game is better than a rushed game.
What is Prince of Persia?
Younger gamers may not even recognize this name, but be aware that the Prince of Persia franchise was so influential that it spawned the Assassin’s Creed saga. The original Prince of Persia was one of the first platform games in history, pushing the limits of what was possible for animation at the time. Its gameplay has revolutionized the industry, resulting in a series of very successful games.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the first game in the franchise to be developed by Ubisoft, made history by taking the franchise into the three-dimensional world of PlayStation 2 with mechanics far ahead of its time. While no one had heard of parkour in 2003, Sands of Time was already here to create a trend!
The legacy of the sands of time
The story involved the Prince of Persia, who named the game, and Princess Farah on an adventure to undo the Vizier’s curse. The success was so great that the game was even adapted by Disney into a movie of the same name with Jake Gyllenhaal.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake arrives almost 20 years after the initial release. The game is completely redesigned with Ubisoft’s most advanced graphics engines to deliver an original experience with cutting-edge graphics enhancements and refined gameplay. Of course, without losing the charm of Prince of Persia.
For now, the game has been confirmed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but with the postponement, a version for next-gen consoles and even the Nintendo Switch is likely.
