The new Resident Evil franchise film, which promises to be a more faithful reboot of the games, just won a debut date. According to Deadline, the project will launch on September 3 of this year.
With Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia and Neal McDonough in the cast, the film will show a story that takes place in Raccoon City in 1998, on the fateful night already known to gaming fans.
Johnnannes Roberts will serve as the company’s director and screenwriter. Robert Kulzer, James Harris and Hartley Gorenstein are in production, while Martin Moszkowicz and Victor Hadida are executive producers. The film is distributed in the United States and internationally by Sony.
