Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

The Ratchet & Clank franchise returns with everything after years without a new title. The game, called Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, was one of the main announcements for the PlayStation 5, and although the game’s gameplay released at Gamescom last year, the game was only given a date. official release now.

Insomniac, the developer responsible for the title, claimed to have “worked hard to make sure Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a masterpiece,” and just like in previous versions of the game’s hardware, the look is excellent effect. While the teaser doesn’t reveal much, it’s worth noting that the scenes in it were captured on the PS5 itself, actually showing how good the game is on the console. You can watch the teaser here:

On the PlayStation blog, the developer described the game as a completely new and enduring adventure. In the plot, Dr. Nefarious uses a device to reach alternate dimensions where he can win, and Ratchet and Clank end up being separated. Trying to reunite, they end up finding a new Lombax, while also exploring new places that are already known.

In addition to the teaser, the main art of the game has been released, as well as the editions in which it will be available. In its Deluxe version, the game will offer 5 additional sets of armor, 20 Raritaniums that will give you an advantage to improve your weapons, a sticker pack usable in photographic mode and a digital artbook and a soundtrack.

Anyone who pre-orders a version of the game will receive the Carbonox armor from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, a PlayStation 2 game, as well as the Pixelizer weapon from Ratchet & Clank 2016. Both have been visually updated for the PS5, and Insomniac said the armor features high definition materials, light reaction, and ray tracing reflections.
