The character will be back in the God of Thunder movie!
Behind-the-scenes footage from Thor’s new film continues to be released, revealing a little more of the production. After seeing Melissa McCarthy, Matt Damon, and Sam Neill in what looks like a re-enactment of Thor’s battle with Hela, photos from the set now showed a bit of what appears to be Miek’s new look, as well as the Toothgnasher goats. and Toothgrinder (via Murphy’s Multiverse).
For those who don’t remember, Miek is Korg’s friendly alien creature that appears in Thor: Ragnarok and then in Avengers: Ultimatum. Although naturally small, the insectoid uses exoskeletons which make it very capable in combat.
Previously, director Taika Waititi commented on her Instagram that the alien will have new exoskeletons in the upcoming film, including one that looks like a female figure. He also shared a few images of the visuals the team had developed for her, the first one being somewhat similar to what is seen in the behind-the-scenes footage:
In addition to Miek’s possible new look, it’s possible to see the heads of two goats in one of the behind-the-scenes footage. They come from comics, which in turn were based on Norse mythology. In the comics, Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder are no ordinary goats, being very strong and powerful, and having the ability to travel between the Ten Realms at an impressive speed. Both were present in the stories written by Jason Aaron, which will influence the film.
