Zelda fans have reason to be excited!
During Nintendo Direct, the Japanese company’s digital event that took place on Wednesday (17), it was revealed that a remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is in development.
The Zelda franchise is celebrating its 35th anniversary this week. Since the release of the original The Legend of Zelda in 1986, the series has won over 19 major games across all Nintendo consoles, in addition to a series of spin-offs.
In 2011, Skyward Sword was the last game in the franchise to release on a tabletop console before the popular The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game has received a lot of reviews for its linear gameplay, but it is famous for telling the story of the origins of the Zelda universe. Check:
The new version for Nintendo Switch, in addition to bringing improved graphics to explore the high definition of the hybrid console, has been redesigned to better enjoy the Joy-Con. This time, it will no longer be mandatory to use the movement controls to use the sword. Anyone who wants to can just point the right stick in the direction they want to attack.
Along with the remaster launch, new commemorative checks for the franchise will also be sold.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will arrive on Nintendo Switch on July 16.
