Former UFC fighter Zhang Lipeng will return to the Kunlun cage this Saturday to challenge Kazakhstan-born fighter Beibit Nazarov for the promotion’s welterweight world title.
Zhang comes to the bout on a four-win streak, most recently securing an impressive standing submission at ROAD FC 27 in Shanghai. Nazarov, who hails from Kazakhstan, has fought across the Asia region and is riding a win streak of four fights under the Kunlun and Real FC Japan banners.
The welterweight clash will headline Kunlun Fight 37, a 14-fight card which takes place at Sanya in China’s Hainan province.
The card will feature mostly kickboxing bouts, but two MMA fights have been slated.
In addition to the welterweight title fight, another MMA match up will see China’s Wu Haotian face Ramunas Venslovas. Wu brings a long history of competing in MMA in China, having fought extensively with Kunlun, RUFF, Legend FC and Art of War.
