One reporter at the UFC 200 pre-fight press conference came armed with a sense of humour, when he asked main event contenders Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier what two qualities they appreciated in each other.
“Qualities? Erm, he has a very punchable belly,” Jones said of his opponent.
“He’s a good competitor, he’s a good fighter,” Cormier responded.
It was a much more subdued response from Cormier who said he was done with the taunts and the trash talking.
“This is a game to him, this is not a game to me. I’m here to kick his arse. I’m done with all the talking and jibber jabber, I’m ready to fight.”
Asked if his UFC 200 appearance was a one-off, a fired up Brock Lesnar said a return to the UFC was not impossible.
“Maybe it’s a teaser,” Lesnar said. “We’ll see what happens. I never say never.”
Lesnar last fought in the UFC in 2011, where he took a loss to Alistair Overeem. His biggest reason for leaving the world of MMA was his health, but he insists that is all behind him.
“I feel great, it’s good to be here. There’s nothing else to say.”
