UFC is making a return to the Philippines in October for its second Fight Night Manila card.
No bouts have been announced, but UFC bantamweight contender John Dodson has been on a promotional tour in Southeast Asia this week.
Speaking earlier this week, Dodson hinted he could be a contender for the promotions second Manila card, the first of which took place in May last year with a bout between Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber.
Kenneth Berger, UFC executive vice president & general manager of Asia, said it was exciting to be back in the Philippines.
“The consistently warm reception we receive from Filipino fans and last year’s sold out event shows us that UFC has an incredibly strong following in the country. Manila is a fighting city and we hope to put on another unforgettable show that will capture the hearts of Filipino sports fans throughout the country.”
Fight Night Manila will be the first event for UFC in Asia in 2016, having previously held events in Macau, Singapore, Seoul and Tokyo.
UFC Fight Night Manila will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Tickets will go on sale in August.
