Two of Hong Kong’s up and coming female fighters will for the first time meet at the Shooto Hong Kong Amateur tournament this weekend.

Muay Thai and BJJ practitioner Tiffany Tau will face fellow Brazilian jiu jitsu blue belt Sam Lee at 53kg’s.

This is the first time that Shooto Hong Kong has featured a female bout and Yung Ka Wai, chairman of the Hong Kong Shooto Association, said it will be the first of many.

Both women come into the match with similar backgrounds and experience, having competed in local BJJ and Muay Thai tournaments.

Lee, however, has a slight edge having recently competed at the Taiwan Open 2016, where she took Silver in the white belt category and Copa de Hong Kong 2016, where she won a Gold in white belt division.

This Saturday’s Shooto Hong Kong is set for 17 December at Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai, where gyms from across the city to go head-to-head.
