ONE CHAMPION LINES UP SECOND TITLE DEFENSE FOR LEGENDARY SUBMISSION SPECIALIST.
ONE Championship Lightweight World Champion Shinya Aoki will defend his title in Singapore on 22 May.
Aoki, currently on a seven-fight winning streak, will meet Koji Ando, the organisation’s number one 155-pound contender at an event titled “ONE: Warrior’s Quest.”
ONE Champion CEO Victor Cui announced the fight via Twitter. The title fight is the first official booking for the May card.
For years Shinya Aoki was competing almost exclusively in Japan, but since signing for ONE FC the legendary submission specialist has started to take his show on the road, winning fights in Singapore and Dubai and becoming the organisation’s lightweight champion.
Ando, a 30-year-old Japanese fighter and former Legend FC champion, may be his toughest yet, boasting a five-fight winning streak.
