ROAD FC 24 TO TAKE PLACE AT THE 10,000-SEAT ARIAKE COLISEUM.
Lee Ye-Ji, a 16-year old mixed martial artist from South Korea will take on Japan’s Shinashi Satoko in a women’s atomweight match in Toyko next month.
Satoko will face Lee at ROAD FC’s first-ever overseas event at Ariake Coliseum on 25 July.
Satoko, described as Japan’s “MMA Queen”, is 22 years older than Lee. A MMA fighter still in high school.
The women’s atomweight match was originally set between Satoko and up and coming starlet Park Ji-Hye. Park was injured in training and will not be able to compete.
Lee, another young Korean female prodigy, fights under Team J and will make her professional MMA debut in Japan.
Lee has an extensive background in kickboxing, has competed in Judo and started her amateur MMA career in ROAD FC Central League. She is the youngest female fighter to join ROAD FC as a professional.
Lee Ye-Ji’s mother is said to have given her approval, stating that she wanted to give her daughter the best opportunity to become a great fighter.
“I am prepared,” Lee Ye-Ji stated.
“I will try my hardest to make this a great match.”
