SHANGHAI AND MACAU REVEALED AS NEW DESTINATIONS FOR ASIA’S BIGGEST MMA PROMOTER.
ONE Championship has announced six additional fights for 2015, with China playing a bigger role in its regional expansion.
As part of the announcement, ONE has set a date with Macau, once the stronghold of the UFC. Additionally, ONE has set 1 September for its first Shanghai bout, where Dynasty of Champions will continue.
CEO of ONE Championship Victor Cui said he knew 2015 would be a landmark year for the fighting organisation.
“ONE has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first major mixed martial arts organization to hold multiple events in mainland China,” he said.
“China is the most populous country in the world and is rich in martial arts history and now fans in Shanghai and Macau can look forward to witnessing world class mixed martial arts that has already captivated fans from all around the world.”
Additionally, ONE will return to Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Manila and said more shows in new countries will be announced shortly.
Dates for the six shows are as follows:
ONE: DYNASTY OF CHAMPIONS (SHANGHAI), 1 September in Shanghai, China
ONE: ODYSSEY OF CHAMPIONS, 27 September in Jakarta, Indonesia
ONE: TIGERS OF ASIA, 9 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
ONE: BATTLE AT THE GATES, 7 November in Macau, China
ONE: PRIDE OF LIONS, 13 November in Singapore
ONE: SPIRIT OF CHAMPIONS, 11 December in Manila, Philippines
