Evolve Mixed Martial Arts continues to expand it’s roster of fighters with the signing of 8-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Michelle Nicolini.

Nicolini is known as one of the biggest names in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and recently transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) holding a professional record of 2-1.

Her martial arts career kicked off at the age of 14, when she first picked up the Brazilian art of Capoeira. After three years of training in the art, she decided to change her focus to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and in the past 20 years has not looked back on that decision.

A 3rd degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Robert Drysdale, Nicolini is the latest female addition to the Evolve Fight Team after ONE superstar Angela Lee.

She will continue to compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and at the same time train and compete in MMA. She is currently preparing for the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship set to take place in April 2016. Aside from training alongside the World Champions on the Evolve Fight Team, Michelle will also be a full-time instructor at Evolve MMA.

“I knew from the moment I stepped through its doors that I wanted to be a part of the team. I’m looking forward to moving to Singapore and working on my striking and MMA game with all the high-leveled fighters and instructors,” Nicolini said.

“I am fully confident that I will learn a lot more from all the World Champions here when I am back in Singapore, and this will undoubtedly help me reach my goals. I feel really good here and I fully trust in their experience and abilities,” added the 8-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion.

Heath Sims, Head Coach of the Evolve Fight Team, expressed: “I am truly excited to see yet another high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt join the Evolve Fight Team. To be the best, you have to train and surround yourself with the best, and it does not get any better than an 8-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion joining the team.”
