Marvel’s upcoming film Blade will be written by award-winning Watchmen Writers’ Room Stacy Osei-Kuffour. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio was particularly strict in its selection to find the right writer for the film.
Stacy Osei-Kuffour has won and has been nominated for several major industry awards due to her participation in the Watchmen storyline. In addition to the HBO miniseries, Ose-Kuffour also wrote the Prime Video series with Al Pacino, Hunters.
The THR report states that actor Mahershala Ali, who will bring Blade to life in the Marvel movie, was directly involved in the screenwriter’s hiring process, which lasted around six months. Now the studio is ready to find a director to embark on the project.
Blade is one of the future productions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that does not yet have a set start date. However, it is likely that this launch will not take place until 2023.
