Netflix will release the Kong anime

It looks like Kong won’t just shine in the long-awaited cinematic event: Godzilla vs. Kong. According to Collider, the big gorilla will also star in Skull Island, the Netflix animated series in partnership with Legendary Pictures.

The official synopsis for Skull Island says:

A new chapter in the legendary Monstroverso franchise, Skull Island is a thrilling animated adventure series that follows shipwrecked characters [na ilha] and desperately try to escape from the most dangerous place on Earth – a mysterious island that is home to prehistoric monsters, including the greatest titan of all: Kong.

The anime will be produced by Powerhouse Animation Studio, the same team responsible for several successful Netflix anime such as Castlevania and Blood of Zeus. The Skull Island animation will be written by Brian Duffield, screenwriter for Deep Threat and The Nanny. No release date has been released. So, excited for the show?

It’s worth remembering that soon we’ll be seeing the big Godzilla vs Kong showdown, which opens March 26, 2021 on HBO Max and in theaters.
