Netflix and Legendary announce franchise anime

Following Netflix’s partnership with Legendary to produce the Circle of Fire: The Black anime, the two companies will once again work together according to an announcement made today. And one of the novelties of this partnership is the Tomb Raider anime which will tell an unprecedented story.

The announcement, made on Twitter, reads:

“The most iconic heroine of video games arrives in the animations!” Tomb Raider is a new animated series from Legendary accompanying Lara Croft after the events of the video game reboot trilogy. “

In addition to the tweet, a brief synopsis was posted (ComicBook):

“Lara Croft, one of the video game world’s most iconic adventurers, will be making her anime debut in an all-new series. Continuing after the events of the highly successful reboot of the Tomb Raider trilogy in video games have ended, the animated series will feature the traveling heroine’s latest and greatest adventure. Twenty-five years after her first match, Lara continues to explore new territories. “

What do you expect from the Tomb Raider anime?

Based on this, it is still unclear what the plot of the animation will be, even though its basis seems the same common to Lara Croft’s games. In addition to the synopsis, Netflix has also released some of the names involved in the project, which will feature Tasha Huo in writing and executive production. Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj, Howard Bliss and Jacob Robinson will also be producers of the animated series.
