It’s from Brazil!
SEGA has announced that Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the newest title in the franchise, will receive Brazilian Portuguese subtitles after being a critical and commercial success. With this, Like a Dragon will become the first game in the Yakuza series to receive localization in our language.
Released on November 10 of last year, Yakuza’s eighth game featured a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga. After spending 18 years in prison and being betrayed by his boss, Ichiban sets out on a journey to find out the reason for this betrayal. Previously, games in the franchise featured Kazuma Kiryu, a man who was trying to lead a normal life after being kicked out of the Tojo clan. The beginning of Ichiban’s story, in fact, has some similarities to Kiryu’s story, as they both end up in prison to protect the other person.
The game has also brought innovations to the gameplay of the saga, presenting itself as a great option for newbies and veterans of the franchise. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is available on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows 10, and Steam, and has sold over 14 million copies worldwide, in addition to receiving public and critical acclaim.
The update with localization for Portuguese will be available on all platforms where the game is located and will be completely free. The patch will be available today for the PC version on Steam and will arrive on consoles tomorrow.
