Invisible City is renewed by Netflix for the second season

Netflix has announced that the Brazilian series Cidade Invisível will win a second season. The program was an audience success in Brazil and in over 40 countries.

In the mystery-filled plot, police officer Erick is confronted with a triggering conflict involving characters from Brazilian folklore, including Cuca, Saci, Iara, and Curupira.

Through a humorous video with the star of the series, Marco Pigossi, the streaming giant announced the renewal of the series. Look:

With Marco Pigossi and Alessandra Negrini, Cidade Invisível is a project by Carlos Saldanha, known for the animated franchises A Era do Gelo e Rio, as well as O Touro Ferdinando.

“It is a great joy to see our product from Brazil reaching so many parts of the world and appealing to so many people. It was my first 100% Brazilian project, with Prodigo Films, and I couldn’t be happier with the opportunity to keep telling this story. I received a lot of comments, I read a lot about what people want for the future, and I take everything into account to bring a good streak to the public ”, celebrated Saldanha.

Haná Vaisman, content manager for the original Brazilian series Netflix, also spoke about the series’ renewal in a statement:

“Invisible City was born out of a great desire to save characters from our folklore. These are stories that are part of the emotional memory of Brazilians, but which had not yet been approached with a contemporary vision. As we celebrate the positive feedback from fans of the series here and in other countries, we also recognize that we have an even greater commitment to ensuring that more people see themselves represented in this second season. We are very happy to continue working alongside Carlos Saldanha with all his creative excellence.

The cast of the second season of Invisible City is not yet confirmed, but will bring news. It is likely that new characters from our folklore will be added to the story. For now, the new season does not yet have a release date.
