The series must have a non-white protagonist!
After rumors surfaced about a Constantine series for HBO Max, the Deadline website confirms that Warner’s streaming actually works on a series of characters.
According to the portal – one of the most traditional in the industry – JJ Abrams is the main name of the program, which is described as “an even darker take” of Constantine. The protagonist must be a young, non-white Londoner, unlike other adaptations of the character.
Newcomer Guy Bolton, British author of two mystery books titled The Pictures and The Syndicate, is leading the program.
Last year, it was revealed that Abrams was developing a TV series focused on the Dark Justice League, a program that would be divided into a shared universe, with series of individual characters and even movies. So far, however, little has been heard of this ambitious project.
No information has been released regarding the premiere of the Constantine series.
