HBO is developing another Game of Thrones spinoff series

Game of Thrones was one of HBO’s biggest hits, so it’s easy to see why the channel is developing multiple spinoff series, trying to continue the franchise’s success. Now the chain is developing Tales of Dunk and Egg.

According to Variety, Tales of Dunk and Egg will be an hour-long series based on the novels by George RR Martin that follow part of the life of Knight Dunk, who would go on to become a legendary member of the Royal Guard, Ser Duncan the Great. On top of that, the story of his squire Egg, who would become the future King Aegon V Targaryen of Westeros, is shown – every 90 years before the events of The Chronicles of Ice and Fire.

HBO develops series based on Tales of Dunk and Egg

The Tales are a collection of three different books, The Walking Knight, The Sworn Sword and The Mysterious Knight. In Brazil, all three books were published in a collection called O Cavaleiro dos Sete Reinos. The three different stories tell about the adventures of Dunk and Egg.

So far, according to the publication, there are no producers, writers or directors linked to the project. And HBO declined to comment on the magazine.

Previously, several spin-off series were announced as being in development, however, only House of the Dragon left the newspaper and continues to be produced; the series will show the past of the Targaryen family, with Matt Smith and Olivia Cooke as the protagonists
