Who will wear the hero’s cape?
The MCU’s next series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is expected to answer questions that have intrigued Marvel fans since the end of Avengers: Endgame. According to actor Anthony Mackie, the Falcon, we’ll find out what Captain America’s nickname is going to be until the end of the series.
In the latest Avengers movie, although Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) left his shield in Sam Wilson’s hands, it looks like he’s not the one using the weapon – at least not at first – but John Walker (Wyatt Russell)), known as the American Agent.
But no matter how things turn out, in an interview with The Rich Eisen Show, Mackie promised that the Disney + series will definitely decide who the new Captain America will be. Check-out:
“At the end of Ultimatum, Sam didn’t accept the shield. If you remember, he said to Steve, “It’s not okay because this shield is yours.” Then the program will be a way to find out who really Captain America will be. A way to find out where the shield will end and if it will be with Captain America, or even if that moniker will be used by someone again.
The most obvious bet on who should take on the role of Captain America is the Falcon. But we know Marvel Studios knows how to surprise fans, so anything can happen.
Oh, and it’s worth remembering that there are strong rumors that Chris Evans is set to reprise his role as Captain America in a studio production, which makes that “math” all the more interesting.
Hawk and the Winter Soldier makes its Disney + debut on March 19, 2021.
