May the Force be with her!
Led by the relentless success of The Mandalorian, the Star Wars universe is preparing to hit the Disney + series hard. One of the most anticipated productions is Obi-Wan Kenobi’s solo series, which has yet another confirmation in the cast.
According to the Deadline portal, the new cast name, which stars Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, will be Indira Varma.
In Game of Thrones, she was Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) lover, Ellaria Sand. But in Star Wars, we still don’t have any details on who she’ll play.
What do we know about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series?
Little is known about the series, but we have confirmation that the story takes place ten years after the events of Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith. We’ll finally get a larger context on the Jedi exile on planet Tatooine, but we’ll also see his visit to new planets in the franchise. While protecting little Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan will have to escape the Jedi hunters.
The director is Deborah Chow, who directed two highly regarded episodes of The Mandalorian. Recordings are expected to start very soon, as early as next quarter, according to reports from McGregor himself.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is slated to debut at the end of the year, if unforeseen events don’t happen in production.
