Elizabeth Olsen opens up about third episode, promises more references to the past

Warning: spoiler alert!

At the end of the third episode of WandaVision, Wanda’s hasty pregnancy results in twins, named Tommy and Billy. The experience, however, reminds him of his own twin brother, Pietro, who died in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

This is the first time in the series that Wanda has made reference to an event seen in the Marvel films, but according to Elizabeth Olsen, it won’t be the only time we’ll see the heroine save a memory from the past.

In Olsen’s words (via TV Line):

“The experience of having really given birth – because they’re real creatures, breathing and everything – I think that’s what awakened that sleeping memory. It’s starting to really connect with those memories that weren’t on the surface. And we’ll continue to watch Wanda discover more of these types of moments.

What we can assume, based on the first three episodes of WandaVision, is that Wanda is unwilling to deal with some of her more latent traumas. However, it has already become clear that as the story progresses, we will see the reality of the Scarlet Witch completely crumble. But how far it will take us, that’s what we expect to find out throughout the series!

The fourth episode of WandaVision opens on Friday, January 29.
