A taste of what’s to come!
About six months ago, the DC FanDome officially introduced Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam in a teaser, though the film is still in pre-production. Now, the actor has revealed that the shoot has a start date and showed a bit of what’s to come next when sharing a video on his Instagram account, where he read the opening page of the script.
The post begins with the reveal that Black Adam will begin filming in about three weeks, according to the actor. Dwayne Johnson also commented on the long process until the film reaches this point, once again showing great affection for the project.
The actor says:
“It’s Sunday night, almost midnight, and we’re about three weeks away from the filming of Adao Negro. I can’t believe we’re at the finish line with this, it’s been a dream. In fact, I can believe it given all the hard work he has put in over the years. It’s good to be about to bring Black Adam to life after all this time.
The Rock continues, showing the film’s script and commenting that he was refining some plot details, as he has been doing for months. In addition to the various annotations, he claims to have seen the homepage countless times, having already memorized the text that launches the script.
According to Johnson, the text would be an introduction to the character, serving to introduce him to the world and establish who he is. So this presentation would represent who Adão Negro is in any universe, not just the DC universe in theaters. In his speech, he even quotes Marvel:
“It gives you an example of who Black Adam is and who he is in the DC Universe world. But also, I think, who is Black Adam for the world of superhero universes, period. And that’s the DC Universe, but it also includes the Marvel Superhero Universe. Now, you see, I’m not saying there will be a mixture, I’m not saying that. What I’m saying is that it doesn’t matter to me and it doesn’t matter to Black Adam. Let them all know whether they’re part of the DC Universe or the Marvel Universe. Everyone is warned now.
The excerpt read by him below, which is the same content in the caption of the post, says:
“Well, I would love to use a rainbow every day.
And tell the world it’s okay.
But I try to carry a little darkness on my back.
Until things light up …
I am the man in black. “

The Rock also thanked all the support from the fans, and said he hoped to bring a quality anti-hero to the cinema, which will be appreciated for many years to come. Finally, he toasts the hero and the audience, once again showing his enthusiasm for the project.
Currently, Adão Negro does not have a start date. In addition to Dwayne Johnson in the lead role, the film will star Noah Centíneo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Gavião Negro, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Marwan Kenzari and Sarah Shahi will also be in the film, although their roles have not been revealed.
Looking forward to the movie Black Adam?
