Disney + hits major subscriber bar

Disney + is a huge success! During the event to show the numbers for the first two months, Disney revealed that by early January, the streaming platform had already racked up around 95 million users.

During Disney Investor Day at the end of 2020, Disney announced that it had 86.8 million Disney + subscribers. Today, it was revealed that on January 2, 2021, the platform already had 94.9 million, a growth of eight million in just one month.

“We believe that the strategic actions we take to transform our business will drive our growth and enhance the value of our actions, as evidenced by these amazing brands we make in our business. [esperamos ter] reaching over 146 million subscribers on our streaming platforms by the end of the two month period, ”said Bob Chapek, CEO of Disney. “We are confident that with our robust production of exceptional, high-quality content, and with upcoming releases […] we are well positioned and we will be even more successful in the future. ”

Disney + keeps growing!

While it’s Disney’s flagship product, it’s not the company’s only streaming service that has seen strong growth. ESPN +, which had 6 million subscribers in December 2020, now has 12.1 million users. Hulu saw an increase of 9 million over the same period, from 30.4 million to 39.4 million.
