The actor closes the contract for it!
It looks like Steve Rogers’ story didn’t end in Avengers: Endgame. According to Deadline, Chris Evans signs the contract to return to the MCU as Captain America.
Further details on what this comeback would look like have not been released, but Steve Rogers is expected to appear in at least one Marvel project, with the possibility that the return will spill over into another movie. However, this shouldn’t be a new Captain America movie, but rather a cameo like Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man did in the Spider-Man movies and Captain America: Civil War.
In several interviews, Evans had made it clear that he was leaving the MCU after Ultimatum, but that seems to have changed in recent months. According to Deadline sources, the actor liked the idea presented to him and his interest has grown in recent weeks. Marvel Studios and Evans both struck a deal earlier this year.
There’s still no clue as to how he’ll return, or if we’ll see him as the old Steve Rogers who appears at the end of Ultimatum. It’s important to remember that Captain America’s shield and mantle must be assumed by Sam Wilson, which is the plot of the Falcão and the Winter Soldier series.
Could Steve and Peggy Carter end up winning a series on Disney +, or will we see the character return in a big event? I’m just waiting to know!
Hawk and the Winter Soldier is coming to Disney + on March 19, 2021.
