Jujutsu Kaisen has grown in popularity since the anime’s release, making Gege Akutami’s manga a huge hit. With the anime’s first season drawing to a close and the manga entering a new arc, publisher Shueisha decided to celebrate the success with a special magazine, which features an interview between Akutami and Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach and Burn the Witch.
In the interview, published in the official Jujutsu Kaisen fanbook, they talked about their stories and Kubo revealed his favorite character from Akutami’s plot: Kento Nanami, the wizard whose fight is motivated by money, is one of the most dynamic in the manga and according to along with Kubo, he came to love the story more after the introduction of Nanami.
“Since Nanami’s appearance, the cursed technique has become more interesting. At first, I didn’t understand Fushigoro’s technique, which concerns shadows. It was frustrating that he hadn’t made a more dramatic presentation using shadows, even though the battle was taking place at night. But after Nanami came and explained it, he got a lot better. Even special skills can be understood easily and immediately. For example, Aoi Todo, who emerged after Nanami, also stands out as a character and is very interesting ”.
Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori’s journey through a world haunted by curses and witchcraft, the manga is one of the most popular titles of recent years, with over 120 chapters published and 13 volumes compiled. The animation, produced by the MAPPA studio, will consist of 24 episodes and will be broadcast in Brazil by Crunchyroll.
