Anthony Mackie talks about new MCU Captain America

At the end of Avengers: Ultimatum, fans were taken aback by Captain America’s decision to live his life in the past, only returning to pass the shield to Falcon. The character is expected to take on that role in the Falcão and the Winter Soldier series, but according to Anthony Mackie, an actor who saw the hero in the MCU, it won’t be such a simple choice.

When asked if he was excited to play Captain America, during his interview with The Jess Cagle Show, Mackie replied that it was not yet defined:

“We do not know yet. The show, the idea of the show is basically, you know, at the end of Ultimatum, Cap decides he’s going to retire and basically asks if I would like to take the shield back, but at no point did I accepted or said I would be Captain America. ”

Who will take Captain America’s shield?

The actor continued:

“So the show follows that line about who’s going to take control of the shield, who’s going to be Captain America if Steve doesn’t come back.”

One of the people who should come into the conflict for the shield is the American Soldier, Steve Rogers’ retired military response. The character must be one of the antagonists of the plot, annoying Sam and Bucky.

So, will Falcão really be the new Captain America?

Hawk and the Winter Soldier is coming to Disney + on March 19, 2021.
