One of Hollywood’s biggest stars agreed to join Marvel for a reason!
Angelina Jolie, star of the upcoming Marvel Eternals movie, recently opened up about why she joined the franchise.
Jolie is one of the most successful actresses Hollywood has seen in decades. Star of acclaimed dramas like The Exchange and Interrupted Girl, for which she won the Oscar in the 90s, Angelina Jolie has already brought Maleficent to life in two big-budget Disney films, starred in several action films like Tomb Raider. , Sr. and Mrs. Smith and O Turista, in addition to directing films such as Invincible and À Beira Mar.
However, this will be the first time that she has joined her image to a comic book franchise. In Eternos, Angelina Jolie plays Thena, a fierce warrior who uses her cosmic powers to create any portable weapon she wants. And in an interview with Vogue, the artist explained the reason that led her to sign with Marvel Studios:
“I love this cast and the fact that we were all together. I signed on for this film to support Chloe Zhao’s vision and Marvel’s commitment to expanding the way we see superheroes. Running in golden overalls wasn’t how I imagined my 40s. But it’s crazy, I think.
It’s truly satisfying to see how happy and confident the actress is about the project and how it looks like this will be a truly different movie than anything Marvel has ever made. In addition to Angelina Jolie, Eternos will feature names such as Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Kit Harington and Richard Madden.
Eternos is set to debut on November 5, 2021.
