Warning: Spoiler Alert!

Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the biggest anime phenomena of recent times and it’s not trivial: the quality of the animation, the story, the humor and the characters are surprising. They are charismatic heroes, violent but deep situations, and mysteries that leave you wanting more every week.

Speaking of mystery, the main one revolves around Suguru Geto – the clad antagonist of a monk who appears to be the master of the great curses that challenge our favorite wizards.

For you who are very curious about the villain, I have prepared a dossier here with everything you need to know about Suguru Geto, the mysterious antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen. Lots of SPOILERS to follow, so watch out or the curse surprises you!

Who is Suguru Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Suguru Geto is currently Jujutsu Kaisen’s big bad.

Geto is the antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 0 – the prelude to the manga’s unique volume – and Jujutsu Kaisen. Starting out as a great wizard Jujutsu, pupil of Masamichi Yaga and classmate of Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri, Suguru developed a great loathing with ordinary people, without cursed energy, during their missions. This leads him to do heinous acts and become the biggest curse user of the modern era.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Vol.0, Geto is responsible for the infamous “Night Parade of 100 Demons”, when he and a group of curse users unleashed around a thousand cursed spirits on the streets of Shinjuku and Kyoto. The attack, in fact, was a smokescreen for Suguru to steal Yuuta Okkotsu’s powerful cursed spirit, Rika, from the Tokyo school, while the professional wizards grappled with chaos.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, Suguru returns as the spirit behind the special class Cursed Spirit Attacks on Jujutsu Sorcerers. We see him meeting with Mahito, Jogo, and Hanami, still dictating the directions the spirits should take. Although he says he wants to bring an “era of curses” to the world, Geto shows that he has a hidden motivation. His main plan is to seal Satoru Gojo, considered the greatest living wizard Jujutsu, to put his plans into practice.

What is the relationship between Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo?

The relationship between Geto and Gojo is long and complex.

Even though Suguru wants to seal Satoru in the current story, the two have been best friends for a long time in the past. They were classmates at the Tokyo school and made an almost invincible couple when working together as wizards.

However, the two disagreed on one key point: protecting people without cursed energy. Suguru began to believe more and more that an ideal world would only happen if only the Jujutsu Sorcerers, that is, the people who controlled the cursed energy, existed.

Suguru became more and more certain of his theory as he discovered missions where ordinary people attacked users of cursed energy, in situations similar to a witch hunt. Geto’s turn comes when he finds two little girls, cursed energy users, being nearly killed by a village in the interior of Japan, then panics and kills over a hundred ordinary people.

When he becomes wanted by the wizards Jujutsu, Geto and Gojo meet one last time, but Satoru lets him go. Suguru then becomes the leader of a cult, commanding powerful curse users and storing cursed spirits that ordinary people have tricked him into exorcising.

It is here that he plans the “Night Parade of 100 Demons”, with the aim of absorbing the curse of Yuuta Okkotsu, whom he considers to be an absolute power and who would make him strong enough to start a war against it. humanity.

However, despite being extremely powerful, Geto loses to Yuuta, for not understanding the boy’s exact abilities. Severely injured and trying to escape, Suguru is cornered by Satoru, who ends his friend this time.

How does Suguru Geto come back to Jujutsu Kaisen?

The secret of the scar is more bizarre than it looks.

But if Satoru killed him during the “Night Parade of 100 Demons”, Book 0, how does Suguru come back to Jujutsu Kaisen? We still don’t have all of the answers to that, but it has been revealed that whoever stars in Yuuji’s story isn’t exactly Geto – just his body.

In the manga’s most recent arc, Suguru literally opens his head – where the scar is – to reveal a “cursed brain.” Apparently, who controls Geto’s body today is the brain of Noritoshi Kamo – not the Kyoto school boy, one of his ancestors – known as the most evil wizard Jujutsu ever. Kamo lived about a century and a half before history and has had bodies in the shadows ever since. In fact, it is said that this “being” predates Noritoshi himself and had taken control of his body as well.

There is no more information about this “parasite” in Geto’s body or how it works, but it is understood that even with having a body much of the person’s original personality remains.

What are the powers of Suguru Geto?

A terrifying power – worthy of whoever wields it.

Geto possesses one of the most powerful innate techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen. He uses Cursed Spirit manipulation as his primary skill and can control any curse – it all depends on his current power level – for his personal use. Suguru has a collection of absurdly powerful spirits that he can summon, as well as use them to store cursed items.

The most powerful technique that comes from manipulating the Cursed Mind is the Uzumaki Maximum. In it, Geto combines a giant amount of Spirits and transforms them into pure Cursed Energy, generating an Obliterate attack. The shape of this ability is a tribute to Junji Ito’s Uzumaki manga.

To master the curses, Geto must be more powerful than them. So he turns them into orbs of cursed energy and swallows them up. Very powerful curses can harm your health, but those one or two lower levels have no impact on your body. He can also absorb curses controlled by other Jujutsu wizards, but he must kill the user first.

So, can’t wait to see Geto act in the anime? Do not forget to comment!
