Rex “The Wonder Kid” Tso (18-0, 11 KO) makes his return to the ring in the main event of “Clash of Champions” on Saturday, 14 May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Clash of Champions will be headlined by Tso, who is coming off a stunning victory against top Australian Super Flyweight and former Olympian Brad Hore at Night of Champions 2 on August 29th.

The Wonder Kid will take on Korean boxer Young Gil Bae to defend his WBC Asia Super Flyweight title and the now-vacant WBO Asia-Pacific Junior Bantamweight title will also be on the line.

Tso won the WBC ABCO belt in December 2012, the WBO Asia Pacific title in February 2014, the WBA International title in March 2015, and WBC Asia title in August 2015 (all at 115 lbs).

Bae won the South Korea Light Flyweight title in February 2011, the WBC ABCO Super Flyweight title (vacated by Tso) in November 2013, and PABA Flyweight title in February 2014.

Bae recently challenged the undefeated Wanheng Menayothin for the WBC World Minimumweight belt and despite a hard-fought ninth-round knockout loss to the champion, demonstrated that he fights at a world-class level.

“Bae just had the biggest fight of his career, so I know he’s hungry and ready to fight hard,” Tso said.

“I’m more than ready for him and my fans will see a very exciting fight on 14 May. I’m very proud that Top Rank is promoting an event in Hong Kong for the first time, and I’ll play my part in building this sport here by blowing my fans’ minds.”

Clash of Champions will be jointly promoted by Hong Kong’s DEF Promotions and Top Rank. Top Rank CEO Bob Arum will also return to Hong Kong for the May bout.

“We have an exciting event in Hong Kong featuring one of my favorite fighters Rex Tso. He is such an action fighter I can’t wait to see him.”

Also on this card, Olympic gold medalist Ryota Murata continues in his quest for international stardom. Murata (9-0, 6 KOs) will take on Brazilian Felipe Santos Pedroso (13-1, 11 KO). More than 2,850 tickets will be available for Clash of Champions after the last event in sol out 1,722 tickets within three days.
