Rex Tso Sing-yu will be looking to extend his unbeaten record to 18 straight wins when he takes on Australia’s Brad Hore in the main event of Night of Champions II tonight.
Night of Champions II marks the return of Rex “The Wonder Kid” Tso in his first pro fight in Hong Kong since May 2013.
And while he says fighting in Macau has provided him an invaluable platform for growth, the 28-year-old said he is eager to impress a rapidly growing Hong Kong fan base.
“The sport of boxing has grown so much in Hong Kong. I want to thank Macau for helping me to make a name for myself. Even when I walk down the street people ask me to take a photo. It’s really nice.”
Tso has forged an impressive 17 win record and will face two-time Olympian and top Australian prospect Brad Hore for the WBC Asia Super Flyweight title.
“I feel ready, I feel energetic,” he told ROUGH.
“I want to face more opponents, expand my ideas of how to fight and get more experience and hopefully get my world title shot back on track again.”
Tickets for tonight’s seven-bout card sold out in less than a week and will see several newcomers including Hong Kong’s own Chris Wong and Tom Taw and Italian boxer Fabio Lanzetti.
