Two huge fighters will go head to head in the FMD 7 main event when Iran’s Amir Aliakbari goes up against Brazilian Marcelo Golm in a battle between two fully fledged heavyweights. The former is expected to tip the scales at exactly 265 lbs while the latter is listed as 247 lbs.

Aliakbari trains out of AKA Thailand and will be making his pro debut at FMD 7, which is set for Bangkok on October 27th. Golm (2-0) has already fought twice this year, winning both bouts by first round TKO.

There is already a lot of interest in the Iranian’s MMA career because he has outstanding Greco Roman wrestling credentials having won the World Championships in 2010 and 2012, although he was stripped of the second gold medal after failing a drug test.

FMD 7 sees the promotion return to the Live House after a successful event at the Insanity Nightclub in downtown Bangkok. So far there are four fights confirmed for this card which is set for 31 October and will have a Halloween theme.

In featherweight action Cambodia’s Thai Ritthy (4-0) will be looking for a second successive FMD win when he takes on Jaroslav Jartim (3-4) from the Czech Republic and he will not be the only Cambodian on the card.

Filipino fighter Jhaymie Gayman (1-0) scored an impressive win on his pro MMA debut at FMD 3 and will be looking to work his way further up the strawweight rankings when he takes on Ritthy’s team mate Do Meng (2-1).

The final fight to be confirmed today sees Russia’s Salim Mukhidinov (0-1) fighting on a second consecutive FMD card. The AKA Thailand prospect will be dropping down a division to take on American lightweight Ricardo Sanati, a former training partner of Mark Munoz who is making his pro debut.
