Asuka Mikami has been forced to withdraw from his 5 December fight with Anatpong Bunrad, which was set to be the ONE: ‘Kingdom of Khmer’ co-main event.
The Japanese fighter has an undisclosed injury and will be replaced by Gianni Subba.
Subba (6-1) made his pro debut at a ONE Championship show in 2012 and has fought seven times for Asia’s biggest MMA promotion. He is coming off a decision win over Almiro Barros and will be looking to highlight his title credentials with a victory against the Thai.
Bunrad (5-1) is based in Belgium and beat former title challenger Geje Eustaquio by split decision in his most recent outing. He signed for ONE Championship as a bantamweight but dropped down to 125 lbs for the first time this year.
ONE: ‘Kingdom of Khmer’ is the promotion’s second card to take place in Cambodia.
The event is set for the Koh Pich Theatre in Phnom Penh and will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Lowen Tynanes and Rasul Yakhyaev.
The rest of the card consists predominantly of Khmer fighters with the likes of Samang Dun.
Chan Rothana, Chan Heng and Tharoth Sam all returning to the ONE cage. The event will be broadcast live by a local network but it’s not clear whether or not it will be available to view outside of Cambodia.
