Two top featherweight contenders will collide on 29 January in Kuala Lumpur when Eric Kelly takes on Ev Ting.
The show is set for Stadium Negara and will be ONE Championship’s second event of the month.
Kelly (12-1) has only fought three times in the past four years due to a combination of contractual issues and personal problems but remains one of the top fighters in ONE Championship’s featherweight (155 lbs) division.
He’s won six out of seven fights for the promotion and is coming off back to back victories at the expense of Rob Lisita and Hiroshige Tanaka. The fight, which was announced by Rappler, will be something of a grudge match for Kelly because Ting knocked out his brother Edward in 2014.
Ting (10-3) was born in Malaysia but is based in New Zealand. He’s won four out of five fights for ONE with the sole loss coming at the hands of reigning featherweight champion Marat Gafurov last year.
Under the new system implemented by ONE Championship both fighters will be expected to weight 155 lbs or slightly less right up until fight night.
