TRAINING WITH TRISH: SLEDS AND PROWLERS

Warrior MMA coach Tricia Yap shows how this mean piece of equipment can increase strength, speed and conditioning all at the same time. As she shows, sleds are great for quad strength and explosive power to push away an opponent.

TRAINING TIPS

1. Don’t be tempted to overload the weights, there’s nothing impressive about injuring yourself.

2. Start by pushing off from the balls of your feet.

3. Make sure your body remains in proper alignment from head to feet. Knees should remain in line with your feet the entire time.

4. To generate as much power as possible, brace your core the entire time.
