To say Angela Lee took advantage of the spotlight given to her at ONE Championship: Pride of Lions would be putting it mildly.

Lee scored an incredible twister submission over Natalie Gonzalez Hills in Singapore in the first round, pushing herself all over the mixed martial arts world in a swift moment.

Back in 2011, UFC superstar Chan Sung Jung – better known as “The Korean Zombie” – earned a victory with the move and claimed “Submission of the Year” honors.

That very well could be what Lee gets this year after pulling it off.

Nicknamed “Unstoppable,” the unbeaten 19-year-old improved her overall record to 3-0. This win, though, will be the one that is talked about and allows her legacy to grow by leaps and bounds over night.

Helping things along was the willingness of Hills to engage in a back-and-forth battle. The two ladies met in the center of the ONE cage and exchanged right from the opening bell on, but it was the grappling of Lee that ultimately led to the finish.

Lee’s ability to twist and turn Hill’s body to the point of submission was nothing short of a thing of beauty.

The Hawaii-native and Evolve MMA team member has spent her entire pro career with ONE, earning all three victories via submission – and inside of the first round.

In September, she locked up a rear-naked choke on Mona Samir at ONE: Odyssey of Champions, which came on the heels of a May armbar against Aya Saber at ONE: Warrior’s Quest.

As an amateur in 2014, Lee also won all three of her bouts via finish, scoring two submissions and a TKO.
